Potty Training/Bedwetting

A Brief Overview of Potty Training and Trainer Pants

My advice for potty training is to start as early as you can.

Now before you throw your hands up in horror, if you can catch a wee or poo in the potty to save yourself a dirty nappy (as was done in the golden days of terry squares and pins) not only will you save a little bit of washing but you will also show your child that it is perfectly acceptable to wee and poo elsewhere other than the nappy. This, in the long term, will make the point when you or the child decides to stop using a nappy just a little bit easier.

You could also make it part of your child's routine for bathtime to sit on the toilet or potty, then any success can be praised and may well help when the potty training time comes.

TRAINER PANTS

Trainer pants are nowadays a very popular item when potty training.

Firstly, please do not be confused by these products, they are not as absorbent as nappies, unlike the pull-up disposable nappies heavily marketed for potty training (yes they are called pull ups not 'pull up nappies' for a reason - to keep your child in nappies for longer because it serves the same function as far as your child is concerned but marketed to you as being one step towards potty training).

Trainer pants are designed for use by the almost potty trained child when at the 'might have an accident but can usually stop once a wee has started' stage. Therefore whilst trainer pants will hold a small accident they are not designed for and will not hold a flood.

We stock a wide range of trainer pants, with varying capacity and properties.
