Cloth Nappies

Flat Nappies

Key features of flat nappies:

  • Most economical.
  • Quickest to dry.
  • Require folding to fit, often this is just simple folding (but we do give instructions in our How to Nappy booklet!).
  • Don't always need pinning - there are alternatives!
  • Sometimes a compromise on containment, but correct fitting and fastening can resolve this.
  • Longest lifespan - and, being flat, are often used for other tasks for many years afterwards.

We stock several brands and types of cotton terry squares, including Twinkle Terries and Bright Bots. We also stock bamboo terries. Muslins are available in white or organic cotton as well as coloured and patterned muslins. We also have Prefolds in several sizes in both traditional cotton as well as Bummis Organic prefolds, plus Disana Organic Tie On nappies.

Wraps are needed with these nappies.

Shaped Nappies - Sized

  • Easier to use than flat nappies.
  • Elastication at legs and waist gives best containment. *
  • Sized to give best fit without too much bulk.
  • Padded between the legs for best absorption.
  • Slower to dry than flat nappies.
  • Popper or hook and loop for ease of fastening, or terry fabric fastened with a Nappi Nippa for best containment.
  • More expensive overall than flat nappies or one sized nappies, but cheaper than pockets or all in ones.
  • Needs a wrap over the top of the nappy.

We stock fitted nappies in cotton, organic cotton and terry, as well as bamboo viscose, including Bamboozles by Tots Bots, Diddy Diaper, Disana Organic fitted nappy, Essentials flannelette nappy, Imse Organic Terry Diaper, Itti Bitti Boo, Micro Diddy, Minki Huggle, Nature Babies Loveable, MicroDiddy and Diddy Diaper, Motherease Sandys and Toddlerease, Huggles by Minki.

We stock Mother-ease One-Size and MultiFit, Tots Bots, Nature Babies Big Softie and Diddy Diaper, Imse Vimse. It may also be worth considering the medium (57-60cm) terry squares, which may also be used as one-size nappies, using a Nappi Nippa for the most secure fit.

Nappy Boosters and Liners

This page comprises our range of nappy liners (used to catch poo) and nappy boosers (used to increase absorbency)

Booster Pads (sometimes known as Booster Liners) add extra absorbency, especially suitable for night times and heavier wetters, they may also be used to pad out a nappy to make it fit better.Nappy Liners are used to line the nappy to catch poo. They may be flushable or washable.

Inserts are usually made of microfibre, but may be of other materials, and are used to put in the pocket of a pocket nappy for absorbency, and are usually a little lager cut than boosters as they're designed to fill a pocket for best aborbency. You can add extra inserts, or add a booster to increase absorbency, these inserts may also be used instead of boosters in fitted nappies.

We stock a wide selection of different brands of Booster Pads, including our own, with full details of size and composition. You may also choose to make your own by cutting up old towels or flannels and hemming layers together to make an absorbent pad to place in your nappies.

We stock both flushable liners and washable silk, fleece and polyester knitted liners. For soothing nappy rash we suggest silk liners or silver liners - these are polyester with silver thread, silver having antibacterial properties

We also have our own Twoosters (TM) which are a combination of fleece liner and absorbent terry booster pad all in one piece.
