Women's Environmental Network
WEN is a national membership charity working to inform and empower women and men who care about the environment. WEN runs the Real Nappy Project to raise awareness about the environmental impact of nappies and to ensure that parents and adults with incontinence have a fair choice. WEN encourages the use of washable cotton nappies to reduce waste and the impact on the environment. Membership is just £15 a year join here .

Waste Resources Action Programme
The WRAP Real Nappy programme is about offering choice and increasing the visibility of re-usable nappies. Their target is to convert an additional 155,000 households to real nappy use by April 2006, and in the process divert 35,000 tonnes per annum of disposable nappy waste from landfill. Many of the council incentive schemes are funded by grants from WRAP.

Donating Nappies
If you don't want to be bothered with selling your nappies once they're no longer in use, we're collecting them up for Feed the Children , a charity with a collection warehouse in our village. Feed the Children, as well as providing emergency response to disasters also have various ongoing oversees projects, one of which is the Kenya ABC Abandoned Baby Centre that provides a home for some of the the hundreds of babies abandoned in Kenya every year, and finds foster homes and adoptive places for them. They are always in need of good condition nappies for use in this and other projects. Please send your nappies, which must be in good usable condition, marked Feed the Children c/o Twinkle Twinkle, Linpac Building, Headley Road East, Woodley, Reading, RG5 4HY, and we will collate them and pass them on.
